Leda Olmsted was originally drawn to yoga as a compliment to her athletic background. Quickly after establishing a regular practice she realized how powerful and transformative yoga is for not just the physical being but the entire being; mind, body, and soul. Growing up in the freshwater mecca of Michigan, she has a true passion for being on, in, and near the water since a young age. A true mermaid at heart, she has always been drawn to and inspired by the fluid peacefulness of water. At the age of 16 she discovered the then small Lake Michigan surf scene, and fell deeply in love with the sport. Leda found that yoga was the perfect compliment to her love of surfing and kept her strong and balanced on days where there was no waves (which is most days on the great lakes). She went on to complete her 200 hour yoga training in Bali through Awakened Life School of Yoga, under the guidance of teachers Sarah Walsh and Basil Jones, becoming a Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance. Soon after she started teaching on land, she traveled to California to completed her training in paddle board yoga and began teaching classes afloat. Harmoniously combining her love of being on the water with her love of yoga. Feeling a strong desire to share her passion with others she started her own business Fluid SUP, and feels truly blessed to be able to share her love of being on the water surrounded by nature while practicing yoga with others.

On land Leda leads creative, playful vinyasa flow classes, as well as calming gentle yoga classes and meditative yin classes. Her creativeness and sunny demeanor brings a youthful light heartedness to her classes. She aims to bring the peacefulness she finds in nature into the classroom by inspiring students to ride the wave that is their breath. She truly believes that shining your internal light brightly outward creates a rippling effect that leads others to shine their light as well, and hopefully bright enough to guide them towards their dreams.
